people say Obama’s words are just words...
but...
when was the last time "words" weren’t important...???...

when was the last time a great leader didn’t use words to lead...??...
when was the last time a person didn’t use words to describe how they felt...?...
when was the last time "words" weren’t empowering...?...

and we can all recall the last time "words" were used to divide us and install fear...

Bush used words to fear us into voting for him the second time around...
terror this...
terror that...
nuclear here...
weapons of mass destruction there...

and those words effected a lot of people’s choices...

"enough is enough"...
let’s rebuild...

let’s change ourselves...
let’s allow positivity to guide us...

let's take action....
let’s activate our passion...
we are Americans....

and this is the first time in forever that someone running for president represents "US"...

some say this is all excitement...
I call it “proud to be an American”...

some say this whole Obama movement is "cult like"...
well...
if it comes across cult like...
then...
the cult is called America...

the Obama movement is connecting America.
and it has made "US" realize our importance...
the youth is excited and activated...
adults are passionate and motivated...
the elderly are proud to know the country they built is in safe hands...

we are one...

for too long politics has been corrupt...
separate from the American people...
with agendas that go against what the American people "need"...
education...
health...
safety...
jobs
etc...

politicians have spoken a different language...
making it so the youth and poor people feel as if voting was only for the wealthy and old people...
making "US" feel as if "we" had no voice...
making "US" feel powerless...
making it feel like if "we" did vote it wouldn’t change anything...

but wait...
that did happen...
some of us voted, and it didn’t change anything...

we were in the dark...
we had no voice...
we were powerless...

because America was not a united America...
and "they" spoke a different language...
and they had an agenda different from our well being...

correct me if I’m wrong... or speak up if I’m missing something...

we want education, health, safety, and good jobs...right???...
oh yeah...
and "a healthy planet to live on"...

but here we are...

in a war... poor education... poor health programs... the dollar is down... the planet, polluted...
the rich, richer... and the poor, struggling...
with sky high gas prices to top it all off...

and now even the rich aren't really rich internationally because our dollar is has fallen so far down...

in our slumber... a very small few got really rich...

because when you’re sleeping...

"it’s hard to change agendas"...

we know what happened in 2000 and 2004...
but in 2008...
it’s different...

we are awake...
and there is a movement...

and "it’s hard to change a movement"...

last time "we" didn’t have a movement...
America wasn’t united...

and now "United and "Standing"...for something...
we know the power of "US"...
and we have a person who represents the "U.S."...

"US"…

"we are the ones we’ve been waiting for"...

I will NOT speak of this again until the next Primary Races come up, I PROMISE!! Well... unless something MAJOR happens anyway. But one last post won't kill anybody...

After all my talk about Barack Obama, I thought I would take the opportunity to actually explain why I support him. This was a post I put on my myspace blog before I started this one. It has some of the BEST you tubes EVER of Obama, and while I am well aware that speeches aren't everything, even Harold Henn said last night on the phone that when he hears Obama speeches the hair on the back of his neck stands up. So watch for yourself and feel free to disagree, I think everyone's opinion matters, even if I don't agree with them.

I got this e-mail from Obama this morning and I thought I would share:

A week ago we were 14 points behind, and no one imagined that we'd accomplish what we did in New Hampshire last night.

SOME MAY DOUBT OBAMA BASED ON A PECEIVED "LACK OF EXPERIENCE". I REMIND THEM THAT SOME OF THE GREATEST PRESIDENTS WE HAVE EVER HAD HAVE HAD LESS "EXPERIENCE" THAN BARACK OBAMA HAS. I WILL JUST LET THEM TELL YOU THEMSELVES...



SOME MAY DOUBT THAT A CAMPAIGN CAN BE SUCCESSFUL WHEN IT IS BASED ON HOPE AND CHANGE, YET AFTER IOWA I HAVE NEVER HEARD THE WORD "CHANGE" SPOKEN SO MUCH BY FELLOW PRESIDENTIAL HOPEFUL'S IN BOTH PARTIES. THE ONE WHO CAN BRING ABOUT THE NECESSARY CHANGE WE NEED IN THIS COUNTRY- TO UNIFY AND NOT DIVIDE- IS BARACK OBAMA. HIS WORDS INSPIRE AND HIS ACTIONS INCITE PASSION. THE DECADES OF CORRUPTION IN GOVERNMENT MIGHT ACTUALLY COME TO AN END AND WE MIGHT BE ABLE TO BELIEVE IN OUR GOVERNMENT AGAIN. AND BY "WE" I MEAN ALL AMERICANS WHETHER THEY ARE DEMOCRATS, REPUBLICANS OR INDEPENDANTS...



I GET ASKED, "WHY OBAMA?" ALL THE TIME, AND HERE IS MY RESPONSE... NEVER HAVE I BELIEVED IN A CANDIDATE AS STRONGLY AS I BELIEVE IN THIS MAN. I GREW UP DURING THE REAGAN ERA AND UNTIL 9/11 AND THE SUBSEQUENT WAR WITH IRAQ IT HAD TRULY NEVER OCCURED TO ME THAT THE PRESIDENTIAL OFFICE COULD BECOME A DICTATORSHIP REPRESENTED BY ONE, AND CERTAINLY NOT ALL OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE'S IDEALS AND STANDARDS. THIS MAN, MY PRESIDENT... BRINGS HOPE TO THE FACES OF MILLIONS WHO HAVE BEEN WITHOUT IT FOR SO LONG. THIS MAN LACKS NOTHING IN CHARACTER, HONOR, MORALITY, HONESTY, FAIRNESS, KINDNESS AND COURAGE. THIS MAN IS BARACK OBAMA. I GENUINELY FEAR WHAT THIS NATION MIGHT BECOME IF ANYONE OTHER THAN HE WINS THIS ELECTION. I HAVE NEVER BELIEVED MORE STRONGLY ABOUT ANYTHING IN MY 32 YEARS ON THIS EARTH THAN I BELIEVE THAT BARACK OBAMA DOES NOT JUST DESERVE TO BE OUR PRESIDENT BUT THAT HE MUST BE OUR PRESIDENT, BECAUSE WE DESERVE TO BE LED AND REPRESENTED BY SOMEONE WHO IS HOPEFUL, IDEALISTIC, RESPECTFUL, INTELLIGENT AND STILL ADMITS TO BEING A HUMAN BEING WHO IS REAL AND NOT FLAWLESS. I CANNOT TOLERATE ANYMORE CORRUPTION INSIDE OF OUR GOVERNMENT. EVERY SINGLE INSTANCE OF SHEER INCOMPETENCE- ALBEIT LAPSES IN JUDGEMENT, OR "FAULTY INTELLIGENCE", OR COMPLETE AND UTTER DISREGARD OF THE HUMAN CONDITION- THAT HAS OCCURED OVER THE PAST 8 YEARS HAS SLOWLY CHIPPED AWAY AT MY PRIDE IN THIS COUNTRY. NOBODY SHOULD HAVE THE RIGHT TO DO THAT TO THE CITIZENS THEY CLAIM TO PROTECT AND BE RESPONSIBLE FOR. THE ONLY WAY TO CHANGE THIS CATASTROPHE THAT HAS BECOME THE PRESENT DAY AMERICAN GOVERNMENT AND ITS' POLITICS IS TO ELECT THE ONLY CANDIDATE THAT HONESTLY WANTS THESE CHANGES AS WELL. IT'S SO VERY SIMPLE IN THE MAD-MAD WORLD OF THIS POLITICAL CIRCUS. WE HAVE A SIGNIFICANT PROBLEM… BUT THE BEAUTY IS THAT WE ACTUALLY HAVE A SOLUTION. THAT SOLUTION ISN'T JUST MY CHOICE FOR PRESIDENT, MY PRAYER FOR THIS COUNTRY, MY HOPE FOR ITS' VAST POTENTIAL... IT IS MY PRESIDENT. AND MY PRESIDENT'S NAME IS BARACK OBAMA.
